About Business Standard Epaper Pdf
The main English language edition of Business Standard is published in a total of twelve regional centers spread across India. These cities are Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Pune, Lucknow, Bhubaneswar, and Kochi.
The daily has a wide circulation with readers in over a thousand cities and towns across the country. This guarantees that its informational content is available to a large audience.
In its early years, Hindustan Times saw a significant increase in circulation when owned by the ABP Group of Kolkata. The ABP Group has difficulty continuing the publication of the journal due to rising financial losses that could go as high as Rs 50 crore.
ABP considered allowing Financial Times to purchase a stake in Business Standard Limited to raise capital, with the belief that the partnership would provide the newspaper with much-needed financial backing.
In 1997, Kotak Mahindra Finance, led by Uday Kotak, who is now the Managing Director and CEO of Kotak Mahindra Bank, bought Business Times. This was a big change in who owned the newspaper. In 2005, Kotak had said in an honest conversation with ABP Group that Business Standard was losing Rs 1.5 crore every month.
This made the ABP Group worried as to how this could affect the finances of their organization. Aveek and Arup Sarkar knew the situation was urgent, so they decided to make Business Standard their own company and approached Kotak as a potential buyer, fearing the newspaper would soon be shut down.
